Bater Law was founded in April 2017 by Ceri Bater. John Watkins joined shortly thereafter in early 2018 and between them they quickly built up a busy commercial and litigation practice. The team expanded when they were joined by Elaine Richardson, another experienced commercial litigator who worked with both Ceri and John previously in international law firm Eversheds.
The practice further expanded when experienced solicitor consultants Bethan Southcombe and Elizabeth Jones joined the firm allowing Bater Law to provide additional services in employment law and wills and probate
John became a Director of Bater Law in March 2023.
McGill Brown was founded in September 2011 by Jo McGill and Kelly-Marie Brown and quickly became established as a professional, reliable and trusted wills and probate firm.
Bater Law acquired McGill Brown in October 2024. Kelly-Marie joined Ceri and John on the management board as a Director and Jo took on a consultancy role.
Bater Law Ltd is now trading as Bater Watkins Brown and specialises in commercial, litigation, employment and wills and probate services.
